Factored form

The x-intercepts are at (r, 0) and (s, 0). To find the x-intercept you we would set the factors equal to zero. So it would be:

x– r = 0

x – s = 0

 

Then you solve the equation to isolate both the x’s. 

The equation of a factored form looks like this:

Factors are numbers you multiply together to get another number
Example: 5 and 2 are factors of 10, because 5 × 2 = 10

               6 and 4 are factors of 24 because 6 × 4 = 24
