Linear relation

This is a linear relationship because the first differences are constant. You subtract the bottom number by the top, for example

(2-(-2)=4). When you graph these points it would make a straight line.

 

Quadratic relation

This table of value shows a quadratic relationship because the second differences are the same. When you graph this, it would create a curve (parabola).
